This year, Gartneriet LUNDAGER celebrates 40 years of green growth and plant innovation.
“When I started out as a young gardener after school, I didn’t know where the journey would lead,” said owner Ove Lundager.
The journey began in 1985 when Ove Lundager bought his first nursery in Ulfborg. With few employees, great passion and a clear goal to create quality, the adventure began.
After 19 exciting years in Ulfborg with pot plant production and the garden center, we made the decision to move to Odense in 2003. We wanted to focus on our core business: the production of green plants.
From Ulfborg to Odense - a strategic shift
In 2004, the company took a decisive step and moved its entire production to Odense. Here they were able to consolidate operations, professionalize workflows and expand capacity.
Today, production is run at 6 nurseries, producing millions of green
potted plants every year for both Danish and international customers.
Own ceramics
In addition to plant production, LUNDAGER has since 2017 developed its own added value line, which today is an integral part of the company’s visual identity. The ceramics program has become a natural complement the plants and allow customers to buy complete solutions.
LUNDAGER Breeding - new varieties for the world
Since the establishment of LUNDAGER Breeding, the company has made a significant global impact. The development of new varieties of Peperomia, Tradescantia, Begonia, etc. has made LUNDAGER a global player that sells licenses of its own varieties to producers worldwide.

Today, the company is built on four decades of experience, development and investment – but the values remain the same: integrity, quality and innovation.
“We are proud of how far we have come, but we are just as excited about the future,” says owner & CEO Ove Lundager. “We continue to focus on sustainable production, strong customer relationships and developing new concepts and varieties that can bring value to customers and consumers globally.”
